The business
Ten steps that earn on their own. Buying more units fattens the cycle, and managers run the line for you forever, even with the game closed.
A football game that starts with a worn-out sock ball and ends with an entire confederation. Made in Brazil, free, no sign-up and nothing to install.
FutCapitalist is a management game that runs straight in your browser, on desktop or phone. You start with a sock ball and buy your way up through football businesses: street kickabout, rented pitch, neighbourhood academy, amateur side, professional club, all the way to your own stadium and a confederation. Each business earns on its own, and what it earns pays for the next step. There are ten steps to the top.
It is what the genre calls an idle game: it keeps working with the tab closed. You make the decisions that matter, what to buy, who to sign, when to sell the club, and time does the rest. Coming back hours later to a full bank is half the fun.
What sets FutCapitalist apart from a plain idle game is that money has more than one destination. The three layers compete for the same bank all the time, and that competition is where the interesting decision lives.
Ten steps that earn on their own. Buying more units fattens the cycle, and managers run the line for you forever, even with the game closed.
Seven positions to fill from a market that turns over every ten minutes. Training raises level; stars come with the player and cannot be bought.
Six rounds with matches narrated play by play. Winning pays right away, and points promote your club, which makes everything earn more.
futgibi is a football comics project: strips with thick ink, yellowed paper and terrace humour. The game was born inside it and inherited everything, the line work, the paper, the pitch green and the stamp orange. None of this is a generic theme painted on top: a player's card is a sticker, a transfer bid arrives clipped to a clipboard, and a club you sell becomes a sticker in the album.
The idea was simple: an idle game that is actually about football, in the language of Brazilian football. There is no generic "Manager" here. There is the kid who owns the ball, the one who referees and plays, the groundskeeper and the local chairman.
Four decisions define the game, and they say more than any feature list:
The whole game is open without paying anything. Nothing is locked behind a purchase, and ads only appear when you choose to watch one to double a reward. No banners in the middle of the screen while you play.
There are no accounts. Your progress is saved in your own browser storage, which has a cost we would rather say out loud: clearing site data or switching devices erases the save. An optional account with cloud save is planned precisely for that.
No app store, no download, no plugin. Opening the site is playing, and the same game works on phone and desktop.
When you come back after eight hours, the game does not run eight hours in fast forward: it works out the result in one go, and the number matches what someone who kept the tab open would have. That is what makes offline earnings possible without melting your device.
FutCapitalist is made by one person, in the open, inside the futgibi project. Technical and design decisions are written down as they are made, and the most interesting ones become posts in the devlog.
